Currency

As a reflection on the value we give to objects, this series exposes examples of objects that we use daily and for different reasons ended up gaining very high prices. By redrawing them the idea is to generate a conversation about what we consider valuable to ourselves, and how thats a very relative concept.

    Illusions of the Line

The project aims to highlight the potential of the line, which, when repeated, is capable of creating complex images. The patience, focus, and perseverance dedicated to constructing the drawing evoke the work of a mason who, brick by brick, assembles everything from the simplest to the most complex structures. Similar to a brick in a wall, the line demonstrates that its value does not lie as an independent unit but as part of a whole. It is within this integration that its full significance is appreciated.

    Terms and Conditions

The project is based in the contrast of the two images, the air waybill and the postage stamp, from different times but similar in their function. The artist seeks to enlighten the change in the use of the image, to reflect on how some languages disappear due to the globalization and new ones emerge with unified visual parameters. Formerly the stamps told stories from a country, a place through their image, nowadays the air waybill is a contract with terms and conditions.

      Paper money is white

The project stems from a reflection on the value of work, time, and effort dedicated to constructing images as complex and full of meaning as those found on banknotes. The meticulous process of redrawing segments of these designs line by line seeks to extract their details, expressions, and symbols from the context of money, highlighting the memories and anecdotes they evoke. In this process, the repetition of lines gradually imbues the work with a new value.

         REPRESENTED ARTIST

The artist finds in drawing a way to explore the relevance of detail in the construction of images, objects, and spaces. The repetition of tiny elements such as the line in a drawing, leads to the construction of complex universes where that detail acquires value and becomes the basic unit, like the brick in a wall. The gesture of the repetition of small elements and the time invested in doing it is used as a tool to give "value" to the images that are constructed.
